The concert of Majorcan dances is a journey through post-romantic music of folkloric roots.  Ensemble Tramuntana (string quintet) will be conducted by Barry Sargent, with Francesc Blanco as soloist pianist.

In the programme other short pieces for piano and for piano and cello by the Majorcan composer Baltasar Samper will be added. The School of Music and Dance of Majorca will also participate, directed by Biel Frontera. They will interpret the original folk music and dances. The event will feature the presentation and comments of musicologist Amadeu Corbera.
