Although Handel's Messiah premiered in 1742 in Dublin, as an Easter offering to raise funds for the widows and orphans of war heroes, it soon became an undisputed Christmas event, and in a very special way, in the format of a participatory concert in which several choirs and individual singers who share a passion for the Messiah come together. It undoubtedly is one of the culminating works of the musical repertoire.
Orfeó Ramon Llull’s Messiah has been presented in emblematic venues such as Sant Francesc and the Teatre Principal in Palma, the Convent of Manacor, the Church of Pollença and in Maó (Minorca). Now this exceptional masterpiece can be enjoyed at the Auditori sa Màniga.
